Victoria Baths Wedding // Manchester
I’m a Kent wedding photographer, but travel all over the UK to shoot weddings. One place I don’t seem to venture that often, though, is the north of England, so when Tiff and Dan got in touch about their wedding I was happy to pack my bag and head up there for the weekend. Their September wedding took place at Manchester wedding venue, Victoria Baths. A disused Victorian swimming pool waiting to be renovated, the wedding can actually take place in the empty pool, complete with incredible Victorian tiles, the original changing cubicles and yes, the floor does slope a little to incorporate the ‘deep end’. The day kicked off at their home, with Tiff getting ready alongside her 6 bridesmaids and flower girl. The girls looked great, with little gold brocade dresses and flowers in their hair. Tiff looked every inch the gorgeous bride in a stunning lace dress, hand tied bouquet and long flowing hair. The ceremony took place a stone’s throw from the house, at Fords Lane Evangelical Church. It was a joyful celebration, full of music and singing, and the all important vows. Following the ceremony, the couple were congratulated by their family and friends, and there were drinks and nibbles outside. After a bit of mingling, we sneaked off and made our way to the baths. Taking advantage of a few quiet moments, I had the opportunity to take some portraits of Tiff and Dan. Victoria Baths is a dream for a photographer, with pools of natural light and amazing Victorian architecture and ironwork. The rooms provide stunning backdrops, a combination of raw, unfinished walls in soft neutral tones, and beautiful glazed tiles in shades of emerald green and mustard. On to dinner, speeches and the all important cake – a decadent chocolate tower and individual, miniature jars of cake with little wooden spoons. As the light faded and the evening party got underway, strings of fairy lights lit the dance floor, and the sound of dancing feet on swimming pool tiles filled the air. A great day with some genuinely lovely people at a truly unique venue. If you’re thinking of getting married at Victoria Baths and like the photographs you see here, please get in touch to chat about your day.
