Rye Town Hall Wedding // Ell & Matt
In March I headed to Rye to photograph the wedding of good friends Matt (fellow photographer and cycling companion) and Ell (expert makeup artist and all round lovely person). Lyndsey & I photographed this one together, which is something we love doing.
An intimate ceremony at Rye Town Hall followed by food at The George in Rye with your family and closest friends is a recipe for success. I should know as these locations were the choice for my own wedding exactly 3 years prior to Matt & Ell’s wedding (bar one day). Matt and Ell are made for each other. To find your best friend and partner in life is special and, when it happens, you just know. Having known Matt for many years through our profession as documentary wedding photographers, we have become closer friends, largely due to our shared love of cycling, food, wine, music, and street photography. The list goes on. To document their wedding day was a real pleasure and privilege.
Lyndsey started bridal prep with Ell in the morning, so I have pinched a few of her images for this post to round out the narrative. You can see Lyndsey’s pictures here. All Rye weddings involve a little walk around the town at some point during the day. There are cobbled streets and wonky buildings and amazing tones. Given that it rained for the majority of the day, we snuck out towards the end of the dinner. Just 20 minutes whilst there was a break in the weather, and before the evening party got started.
Such an enjoyable day with Matt, Ell, their families and friends (including many of our photographer buddies), here’s some pictures!
