Nonsuch Mansion Weddings // Ioana & Paul
Ioana and Paul were married at Sacred Heart Church in Wimbledon on one of the wettest days imaginable. My coverage of their day started at the church with the bridesmaids arriving, huddled together under umbrellas, followed by Ioana who was smiling despite the monsoon, and looking stunning in a custom made gown by Charlotte of bespoke bridal wear Wilden Bride London. Following the ceremony, everyone boarded a Routemaster and headed to the stunning Nonsuch Mansion for the rest of the day. The wedding breakfast commenced with a traditional Polish custom of sharing bread, salt and vodka; the custom is for the father of the bride or groom to present the couple with two glasses, one of vodka and one of water. The bride goes first, without knowing which glass is which. Tradition says whoever ends up with the vodka will be the dominant partner in the relationship. Tradition aside, a shot of vodka before the wedding meal seems like a great idea to me! Later in the day, we were unexpectedly treated to a dry spell, so I headed outside with the couple for some portraits. The grounds of Nonsuch Mansion are just as stunning as the interior, so it was nice to be able to take advantage of them. On to the party, where i am sure more vodka was enjoyed. Nonsuch Mansion weddings are really special, and you can see some favourites below.
