Chiddingstone Castle Wedding // Catherine & Laurence
Chiddingstone Castle is a stunning wedding venue in the heart of the Kent countryside, and one I love to work at. It was the setting for the 2012 wedding of TV presenter Dermott O’Leary, and with it’s beautiful gardens and a lovely brick Orangery for outdoor ceremonies, it’s not hard to see why Catherine and Lawrence decided to hold their spring wedding here. My day started at the castle, where Lawrence, his best man and ushers enjoyed lunch, before heading over to where Catherine and her 6 bridesmaids were getting ready at the Tunbridge Wells Hotel, a gorgeous boutique hotel on the beautiful Pantiles of Tunbridge Wells. Catherine was in safe hands with her wedding day hair and makeup, having commissioned Lucy Jane and Vicky Lord, two local and brilliant suppliers I have worked alongside before. Catherine’s bridesmaids all looked lovely in long, flowing dresses in a dusty coral colour, and the bride looked stunning with a strapless gown and some pretty magnificent gold, glittery, strappy Jimmy Choo’s. A classic white vintage Jaguar took Catherine to the ceremony, pulling up at the end of the outdoor aisle where Laurence was waiting. The weather was perfect for an outdoor ceremony; warm with a touch of cloud cover for that beautiful soft, diffused light. The ceremony was lovely, and featured a string quartet and a song performed by one of Catherine’s friends. Afterwards, the day continued with drinks and some very tasty looking canapés in the castle’s stunning grounds. Dinner was served in a marquee on the lawns, and followed by speeches. emotional, touching; just what speeches should be. The evening celebrations got under way back inside the castle, with a live band to get everyone in the mood. An elegant, beautiful wedding with a great couple, some favourites from Catherine and Lawrence’s Chiddingstone Castle wedding are below.
