23 Jul Babington House Wedding
Babington House Wedding // Fay & James
“Concrete jungle where dreams are made of there’s nothing you can’t do, now you’re in New York….”
Fay and James live in New York, so we first ‘met’ over Skype; the wonders of technology. Although they are both British, Fay and James live in the Big Apple and have many American friends, so when they sat down to plan their wedding day, they came to the conclusion that the best date would be on one of the most important dates in the American calendar, 4th July, and that they would get all of their stateside friends over to Somerset for a picture perfect English/Jewish wedding at the beautiful Babington House.
This was my first Babington House wedding, and I was very impressed. It’s chic, glamorous and quintessentially British. The day began in the grounds, with clay pigeon shooting and archery, where the competitive amongst the group could show off their aim and prowess. Meanwhile, back in the house, Fay and daughter Zelda had a relaxed morning getting ready alongside the couple’s friends. With perfect summer weather forecast, the hupa was elevated for the outside ceremony to commence.
A lovely afternoon passed, and as we headed into the evening, a surprise guest made an appearance to the delight of a very receptive audience. Boy George isn’t the first person who springs to mind when you mention wedding bands or songs of happiness and love, but he went down a storm performing some of his classic hits alongside a few jazz standards. The evening party was a wild affair, and the perfect end to a truly fantastic wedding.
