Augustine’s Abbey Wedding // Georgina & Tristan
Augustine’s Abbey in Chilworth is not used for many weddings, but it’s easy to see why Georgina and Tristan had picked it. An old Benedictine abbey, Grade II listed and built in 1892, nestled in the pretty Surrey countryside. Georgina and Tristan had travelled over from Australia for their wedding and were joined by friends and family from around the world. Georgina got ready nearby and then took the short drive to St Augustine’s for the ceremony. Afterwards, there were a few spots of rain (pretty standard this summer) so the brolly were up and we made our way to a local pub, The Abinger Hatch. A marquee had been put up in the garden, and a little teepee inside it for the kids, and a pleasant afternoon was spent with the guests catching up with each other and sipping champagne. Dinner was followed by speeches, and the evening continued with dancing. A relaxed celebration for this Augustine’s Abbey wedding.
